I am on a life-time journey of Health and Wellness. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a Healer. I always thought I wanted to practice modern medicine, but have discovered my passion is Holistic Health. I'm a massage therapist, a chiropractor and a yogi-in-training. I find fulfillment in the work I do. My job is to help people find balance. It is very rewarding.

“Sometimes I get so tired, Just trying to find a place,
To lay my head, I look up to the sky, I feel the warmest light comfort me, I've seen the great heights, Reminding me... that I'm alive,
I don't wanna die, I don't wanna waste another day,
Or night, I know there's something more, Than what we're living for,
I see it in the stars, I feel it on the shores, I know there's something,
I know there's something more.
I think we're all afraid, That we might be alone, Alone down here,
We all want to have some faith, At least that's true in my case,
To just believe, I've seen the great height,
Reminding me... that I'm alive, I don't wanna die,
I don't wanna waste another day, Or night,
I know there's something more, Than what we're living for, I see it in the stars, I feel it on the shore, I know there's something,
This world may crumble, Into the ocean, It could all end tonight,
I undermined you, Then try to find you, My only source of light,
There breathing, I am, Breathing, I am, Alive,
I don't wanna die, I don't wanna waste another day or night,
I know there's something more, Than what we're living for, I see it in the stars, I feel it on the shore, I know that I'm alive, I don't wanna die,
I don't wanna waste another day, Or night, I know there's something more, Than what we're living for, I see it in the stars, I feel it on the shore, I know there's something more” (tyrone wells)

Tonight I am thinking about my grandpa and praying for him to get better. Lets not take life for granite.

Happy Turkey Day!

Today, just like everyday should be, is a day for giving thanks and being grateful. I am deeply blessed and very thankful for all I have. For starters, my family…they are amazing! I am so grateful for being blessed with such an amazing, supportive family. I am also thankful for friends…they are my second family.

Today was an awesome turkey day. I started out my morning bright and early…boiling potatoes. I had one item on the dinner menu and that was my famous mashed potatoes. Well, little secret, they are Betty Crocker’s twice baked potatoes, but not in the skin…so good! I then had to run to the yoga studio to clean. I didn’t get a sculpt session in this morning because there was a little more cleaning than expected and I was in a hurry to get out to my parents and then on to Julian. After cleaning, I made it out to my parents, finished my potatoes, visited my grandparents (grandpa has been sick with the flu and wasn’t able to make thanksgiving dinner this year) and then drove to Julian. The drive to Julian was beautiful! The weather was in the 70’s and the leaves where showing their fall colors. What a site. I once again was grateful to live in such an amazing city. Julian209We had 52 people at Thanksgiving Dinner. All Family! DT09   Coming back Downtown after Thanksgiving dinner. I didn’t get to see the sunset, but I’m sure it was amazing!dogs09 The girls were patiently awaiting their Thanksgiving Dinner.thanksdog09 Auntie was thoughtful and brought home leftovers…is turkey ok for doggies?

Yogi Training

Well I am coming into my last week of Yogi Training. Its amazing how fast time flies. I’ll have to be honest, this training has been a lot more than I expected and for that I am thankful. I thought I was going to fly through the class with all my previous training and background. Instead, I have a whole new admiration for my yoga CorePowerYoga instructors and what they bring to each class. I am so blessed to be part of such an amazing group of people. I can’t express enough how thankful I am to have found this community of individuals who day after day make a difference in so many different peoples lives whether they know it or not. I sort of feel like yoga is my new religion…a little scary.

So what’s next for this yogi… Well I am already planning on signing up for the extension’s program. Yes, I’ll admit it…I’m an addict. One thing I’m certain of is that I was continue to practice yoga whether I teach or not. I have already introduced it into my practice and have received great feedback. So if your interested in getting in on some of my practice sessions, let me know.

And remember….yoga is not a destination…its a journey.

Namaste,

Genevieve
